It’s not uncommon for someone to want a baby girl in the family.
It’s nice to imagine hearing them giggle, buying them clothes, noticing that they like other colors more than pink, and just be amazed at how unpredictable they can be.
This is just among the many rewards of having a daughter. That’s why a lot of women look for ways on how to have a baby girl.
Of course, I’m not saying it’s much better than having a baby boy. It’s just that there are some situations where we find one sex ideal than the other.
This is why a lot of parents try to learn as much as they can on how to conceive a baby girl.
Theories to Check Out on How to Have a Baby Girl
The Shettles Method
If you open Dr. Shettles’ book How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby, you will be greeted by two questions:
“Is it possible?”
“Is it moral?”
The book goes as far as boasting a 90% success rate, a number that definitely keeps our hopes up.
But is there proof?
Yes, I can say that there is considering the number of parents who can attest to the success of this method. Aside from that, there’s also scientific data that can back up Dr. Shettles’ theories.
His book tells you everything from the Ancient Greeks methods of sex selection, the ovum, how the sperm reaches the cell, how many of them fail to do so, the microscopic events happening in your body, and so many more.
But most importantly, he tells us about the two types of sperm and how this is vital in choosing the sex of your baby.
The Y and X-bearing Sperm Cell
They are so called the Y- and X-bearing sperm cells because they differ in their chromosomal make-up. The Y-bearing refers to the sperm cell that carries the male or Y chromosome while its X-bearing counterpart carries the female or X chromosome.
What sets these two apart?
Dr. Shettles discovered that there’s one major difference between the two types of sperm cells.
The males were noted to be smaller in size but more agile while the female sperm cells are larger but more resilient.
This tells us that there can be done to provide support for either sexes. You only need to time your sexual intercourse to produce the desired sex.
The Whelan Method
This method also focuses on timing in choosing the sex of your baby.
However, the research suggests that to conceive a baby girl, you’d need to have sexual intercourse around three to four days before the peak of ovulation.
This is different from Dr. Shettles’ suggestion that you should do it two to four days prior.
Knowing your menstrual cycle is important if you want to use these two methods.
Sex Positions to Make a Baby Girl
One of the best tips you can get on how to get pregnant with a girl is to perform sex positions that don’t allow deep penetration.
This is to take advantage of the female sperm’s resilience in comparison to the male, which is weaker. The X-bearing sperm cell will be able to survive the long way to the egg while the Y-bearing ones perish.
Girls, Don’t Orgasm
The female’s discharge from orgasm promotes an alkaline environment in which male sperm cells like to thrive. Not reaching orgasm will provide less support for the male sperm cells which are much faster.
Hot Baths for Your Guy
Male sperm cells also don’t do so well in hot environments.
You see, they die off very easily. (You may have noticed that much of what we’re trying to do here is to ensure the male sperm cell doesn’t survive. You’re right.)
So encourage your partner to have hot baths often. Wearing briefs instead of boxers can also decrease the male sperm cell population, giving more chances for girls.
