Kaboodle: An Overview

Located in the recently renovated Katong Square, Kaboodle offers an indoor playground like no other – you won’t find any see-saws, slides, monkey bars, or any of the kind. You might be thinking, “So what kind of playground is this?” Kaboodle makes use of larger-than-life building blocks along with small and regular-sized ones that make for a creative space for children to explore their imagination and creativity.

Numerous studies have found that playing through constructing shapes with building blocks have more than just entertainment as its benefits. Some effects include:

  • Toy blocks promote better spatial reasoning
  • Structured block play may enhance cognitive flexibility
  • Toy blocks are linked with language development
  • Toy blocks may stimulate creative, divergent problem-solving
  • Cooperative construction play helps kids improve social skills
  • Kids who are skilled with toy blocks end to become a better mathematician

There are indoor playgrounds that utilize building blocks but Kaboodle takes it to a whole new level – the entire playground is full of them!

Kaboodle Play Space

Kaboodle provides an indoor play space for children to have the freedom and confidence to go wild and explore their imagination through creative play. Children from ages 1 to 12 will be able to play with hundreds of giant foam blocks that have different shapes and sizes perfect for mixing, matching, and creating unique structures. There’s no limit to what they are allowed to create with the building blocks – they can play around with it, build tall structures, and experiment more.

To make for a more enjoyable experience both for the kids and adults, Kaboodle has a large space that houses all of these features and equipment. Sufficient sunlight can get in the room to make for a natural and safe environment. Kaboodle proves to provide the proper play space for child-directed free play essential to any child’s development and growth in all aspects.

Sensory Play Area

This particular play area is perfect for the younger kids. It’s filled with green and red beans, dry pasta, Citiblocs, colored rice, and building toys. These are all varying textures for them to feel and play with. There’s also a sensory wall that consists of household items that the kids can touch and play with as well. All of these combined make for an effective way of tactile learning for the kids. As this space is primarily catered to toddlers and younger kids, parents are required to supervise their child at all times

Cafe Area

Ah, snacks and drinks! Kaboodle also offers a range of snacks that the kids will definitely crave for and love especially after hours of carrying and building so many structures with the building blocks. They sell ice cream and a healthy option of small boxes of raisins. As for their beverages, they sell coffee, tea, and another healthy option of organic smoothies. This Cafe is located near the two play areas so supervising adults don’t have to worry too much about losing sight of their kids!

Kaboodle’s Best Feature

Out of all the creative and effective features that Kaboodle has, the best feature that ties all of that together is its wide space. The indoor playground is really just one spacious play area with no walls separating each area from one another. It makes it easier for the sound to minimize because the noise wouldn’t bounce off any walls. Plus, parents can get a good look of everything that’s happening for easier supervision!
