THE CURRICULUM
Unique Programmes and services

- Learning for Life Programme (LLP): Student Voice Advocacy@KCS is an innovative approach in enabling the young digital natives of today, living as citizens in a globalized world, to believe that they have a voice to make a positive difference beyond themselves for their families, school or community. It allows for the students to design and implement Values-In-Action community service projects, independently, as a class. The school aims to develop students as critical thinkers and compassionate leaders through the school-wide LLP programme which begins even as early as Primary 1. Teachers take on the role as facilitators to guide the design of these student-led projects, with thinking routines to structure the planning and implementation.
- International Chess is a niche programme in the school. In additional to hosting annual zonal competitions in this area for primary school students, the school has put in place programmes to enhance the awareness and skills of International Chess for all students in Primary 1 and 2. We believe that an early start to strategy and thinking games such as this would enable them to sharpen and deepen their thinking processes, while mastering the life skills sportsmanship and collaboration at the same time.
- The PAL programme emphasizes the socio-emotional competencies that the school seeks to imbue in the Primary 1 and 2 students, through collaborative and modular segments such as outdoor education and aesthetic activities, which promote teamwork and collaborative skills in the students.
Overall Feedback
- Parents’ Testimonials
-
- “My son is currently in Kheng Cheng and I have nothing but praise for his teachers. Despite coming from an English educated background, his Mandarin teachers have been very excellent in helping him learn and cope with the subject. His grades in P1 &2 were always in the 90s and in P3, it fell a little to 80 as it got harder. His form teachers have always been caring and encouraging. They are firm but also quick to praise. KCS teachers really have a heart for the kids. They keep parents well informed of their kid’s behavior through phone calls or emails. The school also has engaging enrichment classes. It also has both regular and e-homework. It might be a neighborhood primary school but the kids are well-behaved, the school is nurturing and my kid loves it. My DS has been given the option to switch to GEP next year & he is keen on trying out the GEP curriculum. I will miss this school and its supportive staff and environment that has nurtured our child. I am glad he spent the first three years of his school going life in KCS. Kids come from all walks of life here and it has been a form of good exposure for him.”
