Watch how the past meets the present at Auguste’s first solo exhibition, Life In Pop. Auguste takes on a unique urban angle in his Street Art-inspired works and conjures up art pieces referencing pop culture of the previous eras and the current one. With the use of celebrities, cartoon characters, iconic commercial logos, and other symbols representing pop culture, Auguste is able to create a striking social commentary. You will see artworks of various media – aluminium with digital collage and acrylic paint, and automotive varnish. Take the whole family to a state of the art gallery of various media, FutureTogether!

Outdoor artworks include the Autonomous Resonating Life on the Water and Resonating Trees – Dragonfly Lake which is an interactive digital installation. The ovoids of light standing on the surface of the Dragonfly Lake shine brightly together with the trees on the lakeshore. Likewise, the light of the ovoids and the light of the trees are autonomous: they shine brightly and then fade slowly as if breathing. Another artwork is called Flowers and People where you can see flowers bloom and scatter for eternity on a giant lattice. There is also the Message Pillar for The Singapore Bicentennial.

For the indoor artworks, there is the Animals of Flowers, Symbiotic Lives which is an interactive digital installation of animals with flowers growing on their bodies. When you touch the animals, the flower petals scatter. Another indoor artwork is called Continuous Life and Death at the Now of Eternity II, which is an artwork created by a computer program that continuously renders the artwork in real-time.

This event is organized by teamLa, an international art collective and an interdisciplinary group of various specialists such as artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, and architects whose collaborative practise seeks to navigate the confluence of art, science, technology, and the natural world.
